Get lost exploring the stalls and vendors at Borough Market

No guide to London markets, possibly no guide to London, would be complete without Borough Market. A market in one form or another has existed on the southern end of London Bridge for around 1000 years. This food market is a favourite with tourists and Londoners alike, including some of the capital’s most famous foodies such as Jamie Oliver.

Insider tip: if you can muster the self-control, explore the whole market before deciding what to have! Choice abounds and portions are generally more hearty than taster.

Hawker House is a late night food paradise.

This market from the team behind Dinerama is the perfect place for satisfying some late night cravings. The emphasis is on all things fried and/or in a bun, and it’s totally as good as it sounds. The best part? Being indoors means it runs all year, come rain or shine.

Insider tip: The food here is perfect for grazing and sharing, so make sure you save room to try a few things. As well as plenty of room for drinks.
