This place has a buzzing, family atmosphere and is always filled with locals from the Turkish community in Harringay. The tempting and great value menu has been satisfying hungry bellies with all manner of grilled meats, mezze and other delights since the early 90s.
What to order: Matt says: ‘I always get the lamb shish as a wrap. But if you’re hungry, the mixed grill is £15 per head and offers more charcoal grilled meat than you could shake a skewer at.’
Hala first opened its doors over 15 years ago and quickly became one of the highest praised Turkish restaurants in town. The food is beautiful and the atmosphere lively.
Insider tip: Hala is open until 2am, making it the perfect venue for a late-night, post-pub meal.
This sprawling eatery comprises a restaurant, coffee shop and patisserie. The restaurant is most famous for its lahmacun (Turkish pizza) and the tava stews are also extremely popular.
What to order: The baklava from the in-house bakery is notorious.
Possibly the busiest restaurant of the four, Gökyüzü is a favourite among locals. The food is delicious and the portions are enormous. What more is there to say?
